The Bold and the Beautiful also referred to as B&B, is a CBS-produced American soap opera. William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell created it. As a sister show to the Bell’s and another soap opera, The Young and the Restless, it debuted on March 23, 1987. Since the beginning of the 1990s, many characters from each show have crossed over to the other. CBS was looking for a replacement for Capitol in 1986, so it approached several writers and producers for proposals. Grosse Pointe created by Paul Rauch as a replacement. In 1986, former CBS Daytime President Michael Brockman asked Claire Labine to create a new series while she was away from Ryan’s Hope. The celebration is the title of her proposal, but it never broadcasted. Jane Greenstein may have serve as Assistant to the Head Writer if it approved, just like she did at General Hospital. The Bold and the Beautiful, which originally titled Rags, created by William J. Bell.
