At a recent Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, Senator Tom Cotton addressed disruptions caused by protesters associated with the activist group Code Pink. Before the testimonies began, Senator Cotton emphasized that any interruptions would lead to immediate removal from the hearing room.
Despite this warning, an anti-Israel protester interrupted FBI Director Kash Patel’s testimony by shouting slogans like “stop funding Israel.” Capitol police promptly escorted the individual out. Senator Cotton identified the protester as a “Code Pink lunatic,” alleging that the group receives funding from communist China. He further stated, “Speak up now if you want to be removed.
Another agitator, dressed in pink, began shouting and was also removed by Capitol police. Senator Cotton reiterated his stance, inviting any others intending to disrupt to speak up immediately to avoid further interruptions.
Code Pink is known for its “China is not our enemy” campaign. The New York Times reported in 2023 that the organization receives significant funding from an American billionaire who collaborates closely with Chinese government media.
