Palestinian medic dies in Israeli prison, say health officials.

Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, now in its 344th day, has killed at least 41,182 Palestinians and wounded 95,280 others — a conservative estimate — with 10,000+ believed to be buried under rubble of annihilated homes.

A Palestinian paramedic died in Israeli custody after being arrested at a medical complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

The ministry confirmed that Hamdan Abu Anaba, the medic, passed away while in Israeli detention, as reported by World First Aid Day on Telegram.

Anaba and his colleagues were arrested in December while performing their duties at Nasser Medical Complex, the ministry added.

The ministry urged international and human rights organizations to investigate the status of dozens of healthcare workers detained in hospitals while carrying out their humanitarian work.

World First Aid Day, observed annually on the second Saturday of September, was founded in 2000 by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Since the war on Gaza began last October, over 885 medical personnel have been killed and 310 others detained, the government media office reported on Sept. 10.

On Dec. 2, Israeli forces arrested four paramedics, including Anaba, as they headed north from Khan Younis to evacuate the injured, despite prior coordination.

Despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, Israel has continued its offensive in Gaza following a Hamas attack last October.

Local health authorities report that over 41,000 people, mostly women and children, have been killed, and more than 95,000 injured.

The Israeli assault has displaced almost the entire population of Gaza, leading to severe shortages of food, water, and medicine amid an ongoing blockade.

Israel faces genocide accusations for its actions in Gaza at the International Court of Justice.
