Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, now in its 344th day, has killed at least 41,182 Palestinians and wounded 95,280 others — a conservative estimate — with 10,000+ believed to be buried under rubble of annihilated homes.
Illegal Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian school on Monday in the Mu’arrajat area, northwest of Jericho in the West Bank, according to a local activist. Students and teachers at the Arab al-Ka’abneh Primary School were assaulted during the attack, leading to several injuries and the school being surrounded, said Hassan Mleihat of the Al-Baidar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that seven people were injured and taken to the hospital following the incident.
Witnesses stated that Israeli forces arrested two individuals, including the school principal, accusing them of attacking the settlers. An Israeli peace activist was also detained.
The Palestinian Education Ministry condemned the settler attack, accusing the Israeli military and settlers of disrupting education and instilling fear in Palestinian children.
They called the attack a “repeated violation that exposes the true face of the Israeli occupation and its disregard for children’s rights.”
Tensions have escalated across the West Bank as Israel continues its military offensive in Gaza, which has killed more than 41,200 people, mainly women and children, since October 7 of last year.
In the West Bank, at least 704 people, including 159 children, have been killed and more than 5,700 injured by Israeli fire, according to the Health Ministry.
The violence surged after a July 19 opinion from the International Court of Justice, which declared Israel’s long-standing occupation of Palestinian land illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
